AD and MONOQI – the renowned magazine for architecture and interiors and

the online destination for hand-picked design – have come together to celebrate

the talents of the world's best up-and-coming designers.

The AD & MONOQI Design Award will be presented in five categories:

Vintage Reloaded, Fast Forward, Arts & Crafts, and Modern Minimal, with winners selected

by a jury of experts. AD readers and MONOQI fans are the jury for the fifth category,

the Reader's Award.

is inspired “by the beauty of geometry.”

Her lighting designs feature brass arms in angular,

asymmetrical polygons – combined with a

hand-blown glass form in pastel tones.

His very first designs were for treehouses and skateboard ramps - a creative drive that matured over the young designer's trips to Europe.

“I am inspired the most by the minimal art of the '60s. It is important that things are not only beautiful,

but simple as well.”

The best example of his approach? The Mollo foam bubble seating for Established & Sons.

You could say that Hannes van Severen and 

Fien Muller are multifunctionalists.


The Belgian couple design lamps that also happen
to be chairs, and shelving with built in writing

surfaces and seating.

With trademark minimalistic lines, the duo's pieces are made “rich and ornamental through colour,

material, and function.”
